Carpal Tunnel Syndrome by Dr. Randy Martin

These days, who doesn’t spend a great deal of time on their computer?

And this results is what?

*Tight shoulders and neck
*Headaches – Migraine
*Arm Pain – Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS)
*Lower Back Pain
*Facial Tension
*Jaw Pain – TMJ

For today, I’d like to focus primarily on Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS). This is one of the more common problems I see in this day and age of computers. (Feel free to email me with questions about any other of issues for a direct response!)

One of the funny things I see is that in the majority of cases of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS), the individual has come to me for treatment of another problem altogether, and they just happen to mention the CTS as an afterthought.

When I finish inserting the needles for their primary problem, and as I’m about to leave the room, they typically say: “Hey doc, can you throw a few of those needles in my arm for my arm pain while I’m here?”

Which I do, of course, and inevitably they come back a week latter and say: “OMG – my arm pain is completely gone! What did you do?”

Well, what I did was to use some of my well – known, and historically effective acu-points on the arms, shoulders and neck, for CTS. And in fact, it works wonders!

Now, what can you do at home on your own, in addition to the acupuncture, to facilitate a quicker healing response? Here you go:

1. Rub Traumeel or Sports Gel on the arm 2 or 3 times per day
2. Take Vit E 400 i.u. and Vit B6 (P5P) 50mg daily
3. Stick a pin in one of the Vit E capsules and rub it on the painful area once per day
4. Take curcumin or turmeric caps, 2, 3 times per day
5. Magnesium glycinate 250 mg, 1, 3 times per day
6. Homeopathic Arnica, Hypericum, Kali phos, Mag phos, or Ruta grav. (If you are new to homeopathic medicine or not sure what this means, please just ask me and I’ll guide you to the right homeopathic, and email you where to get them and how to take them.
7. Finally, take a good look at the ergonomics of your desk and make sure your arms and hands are in the optimal position relative to your shoulders and the computer. Oftentimes, your workplace may be willing to pay to re-adjust your desk ergonomics, because it’s cheaper than paying for a worker’s comp. claim in the future. And at home, you can adjust the height of your chair, desk, and computor yourself. (just google computer egonomics.)

So — if you, or your friends or family, happen to have this type of arm pain, then please come on over to one of my three offices, and let me show you exactly how effective acupuncture can be.

And in the process, you’ll also have a nice 30 minute “acu-nap”.

And, oh! Did I say, you’ll also sleep better, experience much less stress, and gain some energy in the process?……this — as a result of the acupuncture treatments!
