Jennifer Aniston Turns to Acupuncture to Boost Fertility

Hollywood actress Jennifer Aniston has reportedly turned to acupuncture in a bid to improve her chances of conceiving, according to new celebrity rumours.

Acupuncture is said to stimulate the energy pathways of the body using very fine needles and is thought to help boost fertility levels in patients hoping to get pregnant.

Commenting on the 39-year-old star’s move to try the alternative medicine, leading acupuncture practitioner Andrew Loosely said: “This will help women realise that acupuncture has an important role in fertility.”

The latest figures from Healthwise show a success rate of over 64 per cent in fertility cases - this compares to an IVF success rate of between 25 and 35 per cent.

“Even for those already going through an IVF or IUI programme we have increased their chances by 35 per cent with the additional use of acupuncture,” he added.

According to the British Medical Acupuncture Society, a typical course of treatment can last between five to eight sessions.

Good News:  Homeopathy on Oprah this Tuesday

Homeopathy on Oprah!!!
The International Homeopathic Community is buzzing about the news that this Tuesday, October 30th, Oprah will  be interviewing some well-known people who use and have high regard for homeopathic medicine.   Since the segment has not yet aired, I don’t know how much of the program will actually be about homeopathy, or whether there will just be a brief mention of homeopathy. But I wanted to pass the word on to you, so that you could record the program or tell friends about it if you are so inclined. Specifically, the super model, Cindy Crawford, is going to be interviewed, and apparently, she and her husband Rande, use homeopathy, and she is going to discuss it. The current book on the Oprah book club list, Love in the a Time of Cholera, by Gabriel Garcia Marquez, also discusses homeopathy in a favorable light.   By the way, the name of the show this Tuesday is, “What the Style-Makers Can’t Live Without.” I remember last year, when Oprah was shown trying acupuncture on her show, it was a big boost in the national acceptance of acupuncture.  Hopefully, this exposure will do the same for homeopathy. A recently published book called,  The Homeopathic Revolution: Why Famous People and Cultural Heroes Choose Homeopathy by Dana Ullman, MPH, offers a fascinating history of homeopathy’s advocacy by some of the most important historical and cultural leaders and heroes now and in the past.   Needless to say, for those of us living in the Los Angeles area, homeopathy is fast becoming almost a main-stream medicine. It’s an everyday ocurance now for my patient’s to report that their medical doctor told them to take Arnica for a bruise or some other homeopathic remedy for a cold or when having dental work or surgery. This is heart-warming.  To see the integration of the so-called alternative medicines into the mainstream of Western medicine, offers us all the hope of a truly integrated health-care system, where we can pick and choose from the best of both worlds for our particular needs and the needs of our families and friends.

“Homeopathy Saved My Son’s Life”

Thursday, May 1st, 2008

May 1, 2008 — Homeopathy saved my baby’s life According to the May 1, 2008, edition of The Times (of London), Roger Daltrey (the lead singer for The WHO), revealed, “I had a very, very dramatic experience with my son when he was nine months old. He had gastro difficulties, started throwing up, could not keep any food down and turned into skin and bone. At the hospital, they did every test to him, and in the end they just handed him back to me. My wife and I were in bits. My poor baby. The kid was dying. It was terrifying. I thought, there’s got to be something. I’d heard of homoeopathy, so I found a local guy in the Yellow Pages and took my boy there. He gave him some powders. Within two weeks he was putting weight on, keeping the food down. The trouble recurred periodically for a couple of years, but he’s now 27, a fit and healthy young man. “The bizarre thing is that I’ve got a chiropractor friend in LA whose baby landed up in exactly the same state. He thought he was about to lose him. But I recommended homoeopathic remedies, and he recovered too. That’s God’s honest truth. Now I bet doctors would say, ‘Oh they’d have got better anyway’. But I can’t believe that.”
